- (rose) What successes have you had? What made these successes possible, and what have you learned from them to bring into your work going forward?
I have started to form more ideas about the project I’m working on now through the readings and feedback from gallery visits. This is a success that was made possible by presenting my ideas in my studio and to my cohort. I will bring these thoughts and ideas forward through taking action and discovery through the medium of film.
- (thorn) What failures have you had? What contributed to these failures? What have you learned in order to “fail forward” or “fail better”?
I have failed to spend more time creating work. The tight schedule and my problems with planning as well as dealing with family who was with me contributed to my lack of time to work.
I’ve learned to try and separate family and my work. Also to have a schedule that allows time for my work in the studio. And to try and predict whats coming up through asking questions of others who are ahead of me.
- (bud) What new ideas are you interested in? What new methods of working, or research topics, or strategies, did you discover that you want to pursue further?
I have discovered many artists who use similar methods that I want to use in my work with archives. I remain very interested in this concept and will pursue research around it, and how I can use the methods.
